Details of the meeting were disclosed by political advisor and close aide of Musharraf, Chaudhry Sarfraz Anjum Kahlon.
Kahlon said that several senior lawmakers including representatives of PTI and MQM had privately conveyed their dismay over Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's stance on Musharraf and had provided assurances of extensive support for Musharraf.
The advisor said that these lawmakers sympathise with Musharraf and some of them have worked in his former government.
Kahlon said PAT leader Dr Tahirul Qadri, who had worked closely with Musharraf, has conveyed his displeasure over Musharraf's treason case. He said it would be an uphill task for Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) to initiate a treason case against Musharraf based on a personal grudge.
Kahlon said that Nawaz's fixation with trying the former military ruler for high treason under Article 6 of the Constitution "demonstrates that Nawaz is a democratic dictator who believes in pursuing the reckless path of personal revenge as opposed to working in the best interest of the country."
Musharraf’s aide also said that "no one should underestimate the strength of Musharraf" and that "as a Pakistani soldier, he is determined to face all challenges with dignity and courage".
He further said that Musharraf must be given credit for "the unprecedented step of voluntarily returning to Pakistan to face all politically motivated cases without any form of a deal in place," adding that “if the rule of law is upheld, Musharraf will eventually be acquitted in all the cases."
According to the PAT official spokesperson, a high level delegation of PTI will be visiting the PAT office to discuss the country's political scenario, particularly Musharraf's treason case.

Through supporting Musharraf, PTI will commit a POLITICAL SUICIDE. Musharraf is a culprit, he must be punished. Those whom he or his juniors have supported will resist Musharraf treason or at least they will condemn and criticize trial of Musharraf.

I am not one of those who brag or like Fauzia Kasuri because I for one consider her to be a female version of IK, talk loud and inanely without any sense whatsoever. I happened to have met the lady once and exchanged visiting cards with her. Contrary to what you have said in your earlier post, her visiting card stated her to be the "Founding Member" of PTI and this was two years ago. Why did IK and PTI allow her to intentionally mis-state her designation in the party on official stationery? I can send a scanned image of the card if you like.

There is no shame for any organization who believes in unity and cooperation. There is no shame for any organization who supports the lofty goal of working together in unison. Nawaz Sharif is pursuing a personal vendetta of his started in 1999 and if he seeks to continue, while avoiding the challenges of Pakistan today, he will place us back in 1999 instead of 2013. Other organizations recognize the fruitlessness of these claims. We need to move forward.

Musharraf was a democratic (so-called) dictator. Leaders of the 2 leading political parties have always acted as dictatorial democrats whenever elected to power - raiding the Supreme Court, giving the mid-night knocks and roughing up journalists like Razia Bhatti, Najam Sethi and his wife, launching military operations, etc. Musharraf never declared martial law. The arch-(so-called) democrat, ZAB, proudly took on the title of "Chief Martial Law Administrator" after grabbing power which really belonged to Sheikh Mujeebur Rehman.

What about Nawaz Sharif who frozen foreign currency accounts through placing emergency, who attacked SC, and who ordered to handover the then army chief to India. I liked Musharraf for some good acts.But there is no doubt that he abrogated our sacred constitution.He should be tried for treason.However judiciary must give him genuine and full justice.If he is found guilty he must be punished to set an example so that in future no one can attempt to play with the constition and law of the land.Please do not care about PTI, MQM and PAT. The court has given ruling against it and that is all. It is like PPP government imposed Governor rule in Punjab & court scrapped it. So where is the treason case against PPP government? State of Pakistan is not meant forsettling personal vendettas. This case will make Musharraf a bigger politician than others.

I'm agreed what mr.kahloon said. Nawaz sharif is a real dictator behind the walls of democracy.he had 2/3 majority in the past as well and he lost his post because of undemocratic behaviour. Now people expect that he learnt the lessons from past but he hasn't.he started his personal revenge.and people don't need that. I think PTI should be on the side of Pakistani constitution. PTI should support the treason case but should not let the fed.govt shift all focus to it as there are other important issues too.

If Musharraf supported PTI then why did he jail IK after his 3rd Nov emergency and the police molest his sisters when they were protesting for his release? . Besides Majority of PML Q are now in PML N. I am surprised that senior 'law makers' of PML N didnt express any reservation in PMs decision to try Musharraf.

PTI supported Musharraf in 2002, then PTI was at war with Musharraf afterwards and blamed the ills of drones on Musharraf and lawyers detention. Now they are again siding with Musharraf. Make up your mind? PTI is a politically lost party. Anyone in the party can come out and say whatever he wants to. Some want to release a killer, some want co-eds shut down in certain areas, some say Nawaz is their leader and will always remain. Where is the party discipline?
