ISLAMABAD: In a case of sheer criminal audacity, a Senior Superintendant of Police (SSP) was deprived of his valuables by armed robbers in the jurisdiction of Industrial Area Police Station on Tuesday.

SSP Headquarters Malik Yousaf was on his way home when three armed men intercepted his car in Sector H-8/1 and robbed him of his laptop, two cell phones and cash, according to a constable wishing anonymity.

He said the SSP had revealed that the robbers were wearing masks and fled the scene after robbing the senior officer.

Yousaf, who is presently an officer on special duty (OSD), informed the concerned police station immediately after the robbery, but firm action was not taken.

When contacted, the industrial area police expressed ignorance about the incident and termed the news a rumour, saying “no such thing happened in our area”.

“I heard it from you and another reporter who called me few minutes before you did,” said a police operator requesting anonymity.
