Sethi was briefed for three hours regarding matters related to next year’s budget, selection of the national team as well the seniors’ outfit for next month’s tour of the West Indies.
“The chairman queried coach Dav Whatmore about the team’s show,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “The selectors want a fitness test of players before team selection and they discussed it with the chairman.
“Several changes are on the cards with Shoaib Malik, Kamran Akmal and Imran Farhat highly likely to lose their berth as selectors want to give preference to youngsters. Shahid Afridi’s comeback is still a possibility.”
‘Selectors have all the power’
According to Sethi, the national squad for the tour of West Indies as well as the U19 team would be announced next week.
“I will not interfere in team selection,” the chairman told a press conference in Lahore.
“But then they’ll be responsible for the team’s results – they will be praised if the team wins and will be questioned in case of poor performance.”
When the topic of presenting next year’s budget was brought up, Sethi said it was among his immediate tasks. “It is supposed to be presented before June 30 and the chief financial officer has been working on it, finding a way to cut back expenses and increase revenue.”
Sethi added that he, along with the board’s chief operating officer Subhan Ahmed, will leave tomorrow for the International Cricket Council’s Annual Conference in London.

Bravo Mr Sethi!! He got another an other distinguish reward in a very short span in appreciation his great services for PML-N!!
I'm pretty sure that during his interim chairmanship he would not waste anytime and make the most of it for himself from PCB perks rather then doing any services for the betterment for national cricket team since his knowledge of this great game is nothing but cosmetic.............
The entire system in the country has to be revamped should you want results. We need to find good batsmen.
Good reward to Mr Sethi for his services to PmlN in elections. Hope he is satisfied.
Let's face it. Mr. Sethi is a champion and credit to him for being considered competent to handle this closeted political circus. However, Mr. Sethi! Did you play cricket in the past twenty-five years? If you did, then you know the difference between a 'right handed or a left handed cricket bat?' If you do then PCB is saved. Mr. Sethi, for cricket and its relevance to the country please do not function indefinitely on an interim or ad hoc basis, because Pakistan cricket, after sixty-five years, remains without moorings and immersed in political advantage. After tackling your priorities, please put up the PCB Constitution on the website for comments. The 'Games of Thrones' is important to do away with. Salams
How and why he accepted the job it is beyond me. Copy other cricket board infrastructures and appoint CEO like of Asad Omer to run the body and appoint professional to run the board as a business with true professionals in the team and board. I think Hamza Shariff was more suitable than Mr Sethi
Mr. Najam Sethi, Congrats shouldn't be my sentiments upon your appointment as PCB's interim Chief. I think I would also wait for Pakistani Cricket Team's performance till "I see the results" under your Chairmanship. It is a good omen that you are going to abstain from giving your "preferences" in the Team Selection. You are right that a praise would follow if the team does well. However, I digress from your commitment that "if the team falters" the selectors would be "questioned" at that time. Aren't we at that stage already after Champions Trophy debacle? They should have resigned or Fired. I don't want you to be Fired. Hopefully you would fo honorably retire!
Hope Mr Sethi will look into the allegations of sexual harassment also in Pakistani women cricket. Issue came in public domain during a live TV show. Here is the link ;

Please conduct an enquiry and ensure that the guilty are not only removed but punished under the Pakistani penal code.
Sethi don't make budget as an excuse. As you're responsible for team performance too.
