The team will have to submit its report in seven days.
The JIT will include members of ISI, MI and other security agencies.
Qureshi and his young son were killed in a drive-by shooting in the congested North Nazimabad neighbourhood of Karachi on June 21 – a day which also saw the killing of 13 other people in violence elsewhere in the metropolis.
Mohammad Sajid Qureshi, in his early 50s, and his 27-year-old son were targeted by three gunmen as they left a local mosque, Masjid-e-Huda, after offering Friday prayers in Block-B area of North Nazimabad.
The outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed credit for the killings of Sajid Qureshi, a member of the Sindh Assembly, and his son Waqas.

This is sad, in this war against terrorism and extremism, many MPAs lost their lives, PPP lost their leader SMBB, Taseer sb, and ANP also was the biggest victim. PTI lost their MPA too. MQM is not sole victim of it. MQM should not resort to prolonged strikes and hate speeches, and even some elements are giving racial toning to it for vested interests. This will only help anti-Pakistan elements.
How about give the investigation solely to the intelligence agencies and let them have a press conference, an independent one, to reveal the killers once and for all. We might even be surprised to find it to be an inside job. Just saying
Nothing will happen. This CM did nothing in the thousands of killings before, including MPAs.
What JIT has done in the past when so many people including two MPA's were killed in Karachi.
This is nothing more than time pass.
With the passage of time, people will forget if ever there was any Sajid Qureshi, who was elected as MPA from Karachii.
In few more days, the Election Commission will announce by-election for the seat which has now become fallen vacant after the brutal murder of Sajid Qureshi.
Why not CM asked JIT to investigate as where TTP people are hiding in Karachi and where are there whereabouts ?
Instead of investigating the murder of slain MPA Sajid Qureshi, the CM should chance TTP like any thing so as to save more precious human lives from TTP.
For God's sake Express Tribune, North Nazimabad is NOT congested neighbourhood. It's middle class SUBURB!
I know your editors living in DHA think that it is normal for each bungalow to be placed 10,000 feet apart BUT IT'S NOT.
