Allied Bank: Wateen finishes infrastructure upgrade

This agreement with Wateen was reached in 2011 for providing branch connectivity to ABL nationwide.

LAHORE: Wateen Telecom, a leading telecommunications company, has completed branch office Wide Area Network (WAN) connectivity for Allied Bank Limited and upgraded network infrastructure for over 550 branches nationwide, says a press release.

This agreement with Wateen was reached in 2011 for providing branch connectivity to ABL nationwide.

As part of the upgrade, Wateen is providing WiMax and optical fibre connectivity to ABL branches and core data centres in Lahore, which will help the bank enhance customer experience.

Wateen CEO Naeem Zamindar said, “We are proud of the fact that ABL has chosen us to partner with them for the provision of networking solutions, enabling the bank to better serve its customers through a safer network.”

ABL CIO Mujahid Ali said, “Wateen has provided Metro Fibre/WiMax connectivity to ABL in far flung areas where no other provider has reached in terms of network infrastructure.”
