Development fund: Rs45m released for graveyard walls

The project was approved three months ago but the construction was delayed because of a lack of funds.

GUJRANWALA: The city district government on Friday released Rs45 million for the construction of boundary walls around 32 graveyards. District Officer (Buildings) Malik Meraj Islam said the construction had started. He said the project would be completed in six months. The project was approved three months ago but the construction was delayed because of a lack of funds. The graveyards are located at People’s Colony, Nowshera Road, Garjakh, Model Town, Dhallay, Fatumand Road, Kangniwala, Chhichharwali, Chaman Shah Road, Rut Bajwa, Ghoray Shah, Gakkhar Mandi, Kamoke, Nowshera Virkan and Alipur Chattha.
