The militant attack came just days after US officials said they hoped to open peace talks with the Afghan Taliban in Doha, capital of the Gulf state of Qatar.
About a dozen insurgents attacked the homes of two tribal elders near Khar, the main town in Bajaur, late Thursday, administration official Abdul Haseeb said.
The two elders, who were members of a pro-government tribal militia, were killed and two tribal policemen were wounded, Haseeb told AFP.
A security official in the area confirmed the attack and the casualties. "Their targets were the tribal elders," he said.

I don't understand what our law enforcement agencies are doing. Daily attacks, not one day passes peacefully in Pakistan yet when it comes to arresting and framing innocents they are champions. I have always spoken against the Taliban and demanded strict action against them but I never hear news of any one top commander of the Taliban being arrested or killed by our forces.
I don't mean to say our forces are useless... but I don't understand how we can just let these attacks continue in Pakistan. There should be a solid mechanism that is pro-active in eliminating threats before they occur
"The militant attack came just days after US officials said they hoped to open peace talks with the Afghan Taliban in Doha, capital of the Gulf state of Qatar."Uhh what does that have to do with this attack?
