Academic ventures: SALU launches new institute

SUKKUR: The Institute of Professional Studies at the Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur was launched on Tuesday.

The representative of the Sindh Youth Council, Aijaz Ali Abro, gave a presentation at the event.

SALU Vice-Chancellor Dr Parveen Shah said that career counselling and continuing education was essential for students. Abro briefed the objectives of the institution at the university.

He added that new programmes and courses, including NGOs management, human resource management, communication skills, editing, proofreading, child protection and monitoring and evaluation, would be introduced at the institute.

He concluded that the institution will impart quality education and job skills training and counselling to help them find jobs in the country and overseas which are the current major challenges that the youth is facing.
