TANDO ADAM: The passengers of Karachi-bound Pakistan Express staged a demonstration and created riots when the train engine broke down near Kotri on Thursday.

Hundreds of angry passengers had to wait for several hours in the scorching heat, which led them to break windowpanes and throw stones at the station master. They also blocked the railway tracks by staging a sit-in and putting barriers in front of Karachi Express, which was coming to Karachi from Punjab and their passengers had to suffer due to the blockage of track.

The angry passengers shouted slogans against railway officials and then administration called city police to help calm the protest down. The police got the tracks cleared after which the Karachi Express left for its destination. The Pakistan Express also left for Karachi when an alternative engine from Kotri was arranged.
