KHAIRPUR: A complete shutter-down strike was held in the city on Sunday on the call of Pakistan Muslim League-Functional (PML-F) to protest against the delay in arrest of Pakistan Peoples Party’s MNA Nawab Wassan.

All business centres, petrol pumps and other commercial activities came to a standstill. Wassan escaped from the Khairpur Anti-Terrorism Court on Saturday after the judge rejected his bail application in the Abdul Wahab Moorejo murder case.

Sukkur DIG, taking notice of the riots in the city, suspended and arrested three inspectors, SHO A-section, Zulfiqar Ali Qureshi, CIA Inspector Shabir Jamali and Investigation inspector, Muhammad Amin Pathan. The suspended officials have been detained for showing negligence in their duties.
