Missing: SDO Nowshera kidnapped along with son
Waheed’s abandoned vehicle was found near Khwar.

The irrigation department’s Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) was allegedly kidnapped along with his son from Pabbi tehsil, Nowshera by unidentified persons late Friday night.
DSP Waqar Khan told The Express Tribune SDO Nowshera Waheedur Rehman’s family informed the police around midnight that Rehman had called at 9pm (on Friday) saying he and his son, Subhanur Rahman, would reach home soon. However, both had not returned till midnight.
Waqar said a search operation was launched on the outskirts of Pabbi. Initial investigations revealed unidentified kidnappers intercepted Waheed’s vehicle near Daag Ismail Khan Telephone Exchange. They forced Waheed and his son into their vehicle and shifted them to an unknown location.
According to Waqar, the Jalozai Camp police incharge Sardar Hussain and SHO Pabbi police Ijaz Khan informed him around 11am on Saturday that an abandoned vehicle had been found near Khwar.
Waqar said he and other officials rushed to the site and shifted the abandoned vehicle to the police station.
The DSP informed the search operation continued till Saturday morning. However, neither the SDO nor the kidnappers could be found.
A case has been filed against the kidnappers, the official added.
