Bridge: Women’s team continues to impress

Defending champions in the seniors’ event, Pakistan faltered as they lost to India 38-29 in the eighth round.

Pakistan women’s team continued to dominate the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME) Zonal Championship 2013 as they defeated Palestine 49-16 to conclude day four in Ahmedabad.


The team led the category with 144.5 points, while India finished second with 137.5. Palestine and Sri Lanka ended the day in third and fourth positions respectively.

Meanwhile, defending champions in the seniors’ event, Pakistan faltered as they lost to India 38-29 in the eighth round, while also facing defeat against Bangladesh 46-20 in round seven.

They stand at the bottom of the table among four countries with 99.5 points, while India led the seniors’ event with 139.5.
