LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Friday from the SHO at the Sanda police station by June 12 on a petition lodged by a midwife (daai) seeking the registration of a case against three for a rape attempt. The petitioner Hasina Bibi said Ahmad, a neighbour, had called her to his house saying his mother needed her assistance. On entering his house Ahmad and his two accomplices Talib Hussain, and Iqbal menaced her at gunpoint and tried to rape her. Hasina Bibi said she raised a hue and cry which caught the attention of the neighbours who foiled the rape attempt. She said that the Sanda station house officer didn’t entertain her complaint and wouldn’t register the case.
