Round two: PTI invites applications for by-election tickets

Elections to be held on 4 National Assembly, 11 provincial assembly seats.

Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Punjab chapter has invited applications from candidates interested in contesting by-elections to the National and Provincial Assembly seats. 


The candidates have been asked to submit applications by June 11, said Ejaz Chaudhry, the party’s Punjab chapter president, here on Friday.

The provincial council would send its recommendations to the chairman after interviewing the candidates and after their papers had been scrutinized. Thereon, a final list of candidates would be sent to the party’s central executive committee’s head, Imran Khan, for a second round of interviews. The by-elections will be held on four National Assembly seats and 11 provincial assembly seats.The NA seats include the ones vacated by Imran Khan in Mianwali, Jamshad Dasti in Muzaffargarh, Nawaz Sharif in Sargodha and Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore. By-elections to the PA assembly seats will be held in Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Lodhran, Rawalpindi, Mandi Bahuddin, Sialkot and four seats in Lahore.
