Sports: GCUF to have a new sports complex

The Vice Chancellor presented a cash prize of Rs15,000 to Kanwal Naz for a gold medal in taekwondo.

FAISALABAD: A modern sports complex will be built at the Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), said the University’s Vice Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain, on Friday. Hussain said the provision of proper playgrounds and training staff would strengthen sports culture and bring new talent to the forefront. The GCUF has won gold medals in men’s hockey, men’s athletic, and women’s karate, the varsity has been runner up in women’s taekwondo, women’s athletics, men’s volleyball and women’s volleyball. The Vice Chancellor presented a cash prize of Rs15,000 to Kanwal Naz for a gold medal in taekwondo.
