MULTAN: The District administration closed down 35 workshops installing gas cylinders in cars and impounded 350 vehicles on Thursday. Strict measures have been taken by the district administration against workshops without certificates from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Secretary Malik Shafique said that OGRA had issued certificates for the installation of gas cylinders in vehicles to five workshops in Multan.

He said the workers authorised to install cylinders had undergone special technical training. He also said that vehicles were being inspected on a daily basis to ensure compliance of safety rules.
