Mr. Aftab Sultan is a thorough professional, straightforward, an upright and honest Police officer.
Aftab Sultan appointment by PM Mian Nawaz Sharif as DG, IB and that too before induction of his cabinet ministers itself speaks out and provides sufficient food for thought. Either he is the best of the lot in Pakistan which perhaps is the case or he has been favored without caring the merits. To the best of my knowledge and belief PM must have appointed him purely on merit giving a clear signal to the nation that merit and merit alone will count.I wish PM all the best. "Sultan was the inspector general of the Punjab Police during the caretaker government and was tasked with the fair policing of the general elections." No wonder NS has promoted him as soon as he came to power !!!!!
No pseudonym has commented on this because while sitting across LoC they don't know Aftab Sultan, otherwise the column would have been flooded.
An excellent choice by Nawaz Sharif. I hope he appoints others with such good repute. Dr. Aftab Nabi. Toronto.
He must be a trustworthy fella who also served during care taker govt. Trust is everything nowadays.
He is a very well reputed officer.
I wish him all the best in his new assignment.
What I expect from him that he should ask his subordinates to report the matters by painting a true picture of the matters and not just by filling in the blanks to submit the report to PM on daily basis.
PM can only take action in the right direction, provided if the PM is informed about the correct and actual facts.
