Local residents told The Express Tribune that suspected militants detonated the school building by planting three bombs on different walls of the school, adding the explosion has further panicked local tribesmen.
“It was around 10pm when the explosions occurred. We rushed outside our houses and saw the school building was no longer visible,” a local said, requesting anonymity. He added that it was the only high school providing local boys education until matriculation.
This is not the first time a school in Kandao has been destroyed. The Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Samand Khan Kaley, Kandao was also blown up, which resulted in many local female students abandoning their education since most parents cannot bear the cost of sending their daughters to the provincial capital of Peshawar.
Earlier, Government Higher Secondary School for Boys Adezai and Government High School for Boys Sherkera also met the same fate when suspected militants reduced both school buildings to rubbles.
Kandao is located nearly 80 kilometres south of Peshawar.

Drones.....where are you when you are needed? Or are we still confused about whether these were the good Taliban or the bad Takiban?
Negotiating with terrorists is a dangerous game, I was very much against it but it certainly paid off with Ireland. Why are they so against EDUCATION, here we have many well educated Pakistanis` Doctors for instance. The National Health Service here would be lost without our Asian DOCS. And you know they send money home to their families. And a lot of them go back home after a stint here.
Let us negotiate with our worst killers while they continue their job, war against Pakistan and its all institutions except their favorite parties.
@ Sameer .. Dont bring your hate for Naya Pakistan into it. People of FR Peshawer even elected a PTI MNA instead of an independent like in most other tribal areas because they are more educated and fed up of incidents like this and they want change. Hope the new govt is able to deliver them that change instead of just going along with what has happened for past 10 years.
Sorry kids! you wont be able to go to school anymore. It was in the way of Naya Pakistan tsunami.
