A two-member bench was constituted in Islamabad High Court on Wednesday to hear the bail appeal of former president Pervez Musharraf in judges’ detention case.
Musharraf filed an appeal in the IHC on May 24, after a trial court had rejected his post-arrest bail in the judges’ dentition case.
The bench, headed by Justice Riaz Ahmed and Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi, will take up the case on Thursday (today).
On June 4, Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui refused to be part of a bench hearing Musharraf’s bail application in judges’ detention case, saying media took umbrage at when he rejected the bail application of former president on April 18.
Meanwhile, the ATC will also take up the judges’ detention case on Thursday, as prosecution has so far failed to submit a complete charge sheet containing statements of judges, who were detained on November 30, 2007 after Musharraf declared emergency in the country.
