Canadian-French pop music artist Abbas Hassan announced the release of his new single Away, starring our very own Humaima Malik! The announcement was made at an exclusive red carpet party thrown by the young heartthrob at the Century club in London.
The video, which is shot in the United Kingdom, has been directed by Adnan Qazi and stars Malik as Hassan’s love interest. At the event, Hassan said, “Tonight is really special because all our hard work finally comes to life. The whole team of Away, especially Adnan have been so amazing throughout the process. It’s great to be able to celebrate that.”
Sharing his views about his experience, he added, “I’ve been travelling and touring a lot this year, so it’s great to be back in London and finally release Away which is a very special project for me. Writing and recording Away was a journey of its own, and then filming it was also an unforgettable experience that I can’t wait to share with the fans.” “For me music videos are an important part of story-telling. This one is supposed to reflect the darkness and the light of this ironic love song. I hope all the fans enjoy taking that journey with me,” said Hassan.
When asked how she feels about taking up the project, Malik said, “It was very last minute. Adnan approached me [for this video] and I agreed after listening to the track. Abbas is an extremely talented singer. In fact, I think he should consider acting alongside singing.”
She said that she is pleased with how the video has turned out. “This is my second music video after Ali Zafar’s Aag. Adnan is one of the most professional Pakistani directors I’ve known. He wraps up precisely within the given time and knows how to get things done.” Designer Shehla Chatoor has styled Malik for the video.
