'Psycho' trailer sets stage for Eid showdown
Meera praises Shaan's vision as film explores human mind

Veteran actors Meera and Shaan Shahid have reunited for the much-anticipated film 'Psycho', as its trailer release and promotional campaign gather momentum ahead of a major Eidul Azha debut, drawing industry-wide attention.
At a recent press conference, Meera shared an emotional message praising Shaan, calling him a "visionary" and "a personality who shapes eras", while highlighting his ability to recognise hidden talent and transform it into memorable art.
She described working under his direction as an honour, noting that his dedication pushes collaborators to elevate their craft.
The event offered a glimpse into the film's tone, with a striking digital backdrop displaying the title alongside the line, "The real enemy lives in the mind", underscoring its psychological core.
Meera, dressed in a black blazer over a white shirt, appeared composed and confident, while Shaan, seated beside her, engaged warmly with the panel and media.
The trailer itself has sparked considerable discussion, positioning 'Psycho' as a blend of thriller, action and psychological drama. The narrative delves into mental struggles and complex emotional states, exploring the fine line between reality and perception, a theme that distinguishes it from more conventional local productions.
Shaan, who serves as writer, director and lead actor, described the film as an exploration of the human mind rather than a straightforward story, urging audiences to engage with its emotional depth. He emphasised the need for Pakistani cinema to produce content that is both entertaining and intellectually engaging.
Meera, meanwhile, revealed the personal toll of her role, stating that the character's intensity required deep emotional immersion and even led to a period of hospital treatment during filming. She expressed hope that audiences would connect with the authenticity of her performance.
The film features a strong ensemble cast including Javed Sheikh, Sonya Hussyn, Nayyar Ejaz, Shabbir Jan and Adnan Butt, while producer Suleman Ahmed Butt highlighted its use of modern technology and international-standard visual effects.
With its teaser previously showcased at London's O2 Arena, 'Psycho' is set for a worldwide release on May 27, positioning itself as a significant moment for Pakistani cinema.
