In a press conference on Wednesday, MQM Coordination Committee member Haider Abbas Rizvi said, "This is not the first time that it has been happened."
MQM has asked business community and transporters association to halt their activities.
According to initial details, the factory workers were kidnapped last night and their bodies were recovered today from Malir.
"People who supported us during the elections are being targeted," Rizvi said.
The hands and legs of the workers were reportedly tied and they were shot multiple times.
SHO Khokhrapar said it was an incident of target killing.

MQM is a unique party whenever it is in danger or in problem, it rises guns to his voters and put the pistol on the foreheads of Karachi citizens.
MQM is a peaceful political party. Unfortunately, for a lot of educated, yet unenlightened, people of Pakistan, MQM won the elections. The people who were killed today are common citizens. Who is standing with them at this hour of doom? Please tell me who cares about these people. How many people who claimed to have their 'mandates' in Karachi stand with the dead today? I am sorry to break this reality to all those who thought Karachi has been hijacked by MQM. When these poor people are pushed to the corner, they do look towards MQM for help, and there is no one who can deny that.
If it were not for MQM, Karachiites belonging to the lower socioeconomic groups would have been bulldozed by the 'patriotic mindset' of those clinging to power in Islamabad and other provinces of Pakistan. Unfortunately, this is what they did with the people of Bangladesh and in Balochistan.
MQM itself is being cornered from all sides. The intelligence agencies are torturing their office bearers, the notorious Lyari banned Peace committee has teamed with the newly elected government and is making us revisit the deadly genocide against the urdu speaking population of Karachi committed in August 2011 during Ramazan.
The situation need attention. Despite of repeated complaints, if no action is taken then this is incompetence of the LEA. People should support peaceful protest against these brutal killings...
Just tell me a single area where cars were torched or aerial firing was done today? MQM appealed democratically and the business community closed their operations on its own will. P.S those condemning this day of mourning just go through these pictures once: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150602483056853.374412.193400056852&type=3 MQM has been protesting for the whole day with these dead bodies but the government, LEA's, courts all have gone deaf. Then what else do you expect?
May Allah save Karachi from MQM.
Why cant you mourn on a Sunday?
@Karachiwala: can you recollect what MQM has been doing since last 25 yrs? Uzair Baloch multiplied by 25 times of intensity of cruelty, extortion, murders, kidnappings and killings has been done by MQM.. have courage to repeat those injustices too.. have courage to say how innocent Sindhis, Pathans, Balochs were mercilessly killed n butchered by the butchers of MQM..
I totally agree with Karachiiite above. And to PTI Trolls. its not MQM that lost, its YOU whoes Tsunami got drained in Toilet! We support MQM, We support its every action. NO one of you ever dare to ASK who is uzair baloch? who support him? how is he escaping LEAs each time. Who stops police and rangers entering Lyari..who fire rockets and hand grenade.. you just have a MQM-phobia
When PTI mourns their leader's loss, it is so heroic, when BB was killed PPP burnt the whole city down. Everyone is eyeing MQM right now because they are standing up against target killers? Well I say this is the most important cause to stand up for so far, when powerful people die it is cool to go on streets and protest, when innocent people are dying everyday because of their caste or religion, it is negligible and it is affecting our Economoy! The people who stay quiet and ignore such violence are barbarian themselves.
Hey MQM, I don't understand this decision. True it's a sad thing, 4 human beings were murdered. But what you do? You call for strike. Then you will burn cars & busses. Then you will do ariel firing. Then many more will be killed. So what will you (MQM) achieve by this? Nothing,! Workers will loose 1 day or earnings, their kids will sleep hungry.
Shame on you MQM, shame on you.
@MOhajirWHO: Really? and what do you expect from peaceful protests? MQM is not PTI/PPP/PML-N who are considered far more serious when they protest because again, their problems are perceived to be more valuable than the life of a common urdu speaking man from Karachi. If MQM does take the emotions of common affected people of Karachi and becomes their voice, why not give them space to do this?
MQM has been voted by these people in to power! They have a mandate and they are being pushed against the wall.
Do they have another option? Does protesting in front of press club do any good for the people of Karachi? I personally do not think this is the right way of protesting, but I do not think MQM has any other option to stop this violence in Karachi. They have to shake the power and establishem corridors just to get some attention. Non Karachiites do not understand the dynamics of Karachi. They always single out and blame MQM for their 'reaction.' No one challenges the people who committed the crime first. Why? is it because a person living in Baldia, Korangi, Lalukhet, Bihar colony, Shah faisal colony, karimabad, bhains colony, malir, landhi etc.. any less than a person from Lahore? Islamabad?
Something really needs to be done in Karachi. It does not have to be a 90's style violent army operation against one community, but a step wise dialogue and action against criminal elements in the city.
Please take our lives seriously, Mr. Prime Minister! We do not want Karachi to burn at the hands of criminals who can get away killing people from a single ethnicity.
Someone now needs to put MQM back in their place... Please... Enough of their hooliganism. So 4 of their workers got killed. How many had they killed? Eye for an eye...will not stop till we get rid of political parties with militant wings.
All of the above who are criticizing MQM for the strike call are advised to see the video footage of the murder to Arshad Pappo. Not even Taliban could be able to do this monstrous job.
It is strange to see the media silent upon this. Arshad Pappo himself was a killer, but the way he was brutally murdered and then.......his body was cut into pieces, eyes removed and what not. It is extremely shameful for the CM to visit him immediately after taking oath.
Since the re-elected government has failed to retore law & order, MQM is calling for across-the-board Military Action in Karachi to purge the City from extortionists, encroaches, corruption mafias and target killers!
It is about time that MQM learns to protest peacefully without affecting the life of the citizens of Karachi and the economic activity. They have been in power for 15 years and the city has been going down in a spiral. If they want to become a real political party, they must shun jingoistic mentality, violence and the terror tactics. Protest but peacefully and let the citizens of Karachi continue with their daily activities.
@Ravi: U R addressing the deaf ears dude.
@Karachiiite: Yeah we can justify this from a good example of Taliban attacking MQM sectors during election campaigns, but where are they now ? On Holidays ? Not only MQM but other political parties too were involved in this. They have lost their popularity big time which they were trying to gain from these activities PPP and ANP were also doing the same.
And it continues, at one side strikes calls by MQM, other side the Aman Committee terrorises people with violence. Where should a business man go, I think simply packup and either move to Punjab or go abroad. How can you earn a living and support your family if no one is interested to resolve the issues of the common man or small business.
@Leader: Stop Quota system and give the same rights to people of Karachi as every other Pakistani then they will cease to call themselves Muhajirs. The word only came into use because of the injustices done to them for not being the sons of soil. At the same time don't you think it would be better to divide the country into seventeen states and every body be called only pakistani as opposed to Punjabi, sindhi ,baloch and Pakhtoons.
To all those who think MQM observes day of mourning and condemns only the deaths of its own party workers should listen the first speech of Farooq Sattar in todays Parliamentary session. He was the only one to raise voice against these killings of common men. MQM workers and voters are being butchered mercilessly and instead of offering condolence you guys are criticizing MQM for this? What else can MQM do when all the media, law enforcing agencies and courts have completely left MQM to the mercy of terrorists. Go ask the family of these butchered souls, you will know what real pain is.
@Ravi , people at most will starve for one day ( though I seriously doubt this as Karachi feeds all even to those who just drop in hungry from nowhere ) , but there were 4 innocent Muhajirs butchered by amn committee gansters !!!! Will the Govt would have taken notice ? Will the Punjabi CJ take notice .The answer is so obvious .
This high handedness was expected from PPP as they want us Muhajirs to sit in the Govt to make it credible and then let loose Zulfiqar Mirza and his gansters upon us .
This has gone too too far .
I agree with @Karachitte above! My full support to MQM being resident of this city. No one is raising voice against these barbaric killings. Dr. Alvi could have said something against it at least once! MQM is doing this for poor factory workers who were killed for no reason, they were not party workers.
MQM has not changed a bit. A day after new governments they are back to their old tricks.I request all karachi people to ignore these goons. Stand up because fear will destry you.
@lukman ahsan: And I think business community should start supporting Uzair Baloch, a better advice for them to have protection.
How should the rest of 16 million karachiites suffer cuz of this? I know this is a sad situation and this needs to go to court, but holding the whole city hostage is not the way to do it. People have to earn money, goto offices , students have exams!!
@Karachiiite: This is gift 4 making Pakistan...............
@Karachiiite: MQM was a partner of same PPP in the last government for 4.75 years. This whole target killing is about who controls which areas for extortion. Keep on supporting MQM, I guess that's what you deserve.
@Karachiiite: yah you are with MQM , then who voted in thousands for PTI, ignorant people ofcourse , i hope in local body election we have 100% MQM candidates in the whole of karachi , where is PTI why the poor of malir of no interst ask all those who voted for PTI , there is no harm for Dr.Alvi to show sympathy even if they do not belong to rich areas of NA250
@Karachiiite:
when MQM terrorist are openly involved in killing of thousands of innocent citizens then where is VOICE of mourning......please for GOD sake stop killing of others, let people live their life.
This will be a Peaceful day without any Violence and Retaliation.
every such day costs the economy Rs. 5 billion. Enough of these idiotic days of mourning. If we were to really observe such events, Karachi would be closed 24/7/365. But i guess its only when MQM are the victims rather than the perpetrators that these things are warranted. What goes around comes around: a lesson all parties in karachi should learn, particularly the MQM.
@Karachiiite: after 65 years, we call ourselves still muhajir, shame on us
@Karachiiite: You supported them for five years and now suddenly you want them to be brought in the court! You shouldn't have danced with the volves in the Ist place!
Hey MQM !
I read it on another blog that you demanded to restore peace in Karachi. What practices did u guys adapt to do so in the past 13 years of ruling ... ? you guys are losers for ever ...
I love this line: MQM has asked business community and transporters association to halt their activities.
I'm sure they asked very politely!
A very sad incident.
Such incidents should be stooped forthwith. Human killings in no way can be tolerated at any cost.
Where are these butchers?
Since you are the voice of people of Karachi and we are with you against the genocide of muhajirs and MQM should raise the 'genocide' strongly at every possible plateform in the society. The AMN committee mafia and its custodians PPP should be brought in the court of justice otherwise Karachi will never be in peace.
i dont think so that business community support for more mqm to call strike in karachi...
