Gik Graduation: K-P governor addresses convocation

A total of 163 students graduated with PhDs, bachelors and masters in a variety of engineering-based subjects.

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shaukatullah, while addressing the 17th Convocation of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute (GIK) in Swabi on Monday, said Pakistan had immense resources but needed honest, committed, competent and trained manpower to take up the task of national reconstruction.

While reminding graduates of the challenges faced by the country, the governor said universities should engage in gathering, constructing and disseminating knowledge in order to find solutions to these problems. Appreciating the achievements of the GIK Institute, the governor said “Great institutions are built by teachers and students.”

He added the quality of courses, textbooks and teacher left much to be desired. “Serious efforts are required in this regard.” A total of 163 students graduated with PhDs, bachelors and masters in a variety of engineering-based subjects.
