KARACHI:

The Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) yesterday announced the names of the players who will represent Pakistan in the upcoming World and Asian Junior Individual Championships.

Tayyab Aslam and Ali Bokhari will head the boys’ Under-19 category in the 20th Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship which will be played in Jordan from June 25-29, while Ammad Fareed and Bilal Zakir have been named as in reserves. In the girls’ event, Sadia Gul and Madina Zafar will play in the Under-17 category in the same tournament.

The World Junior Individual Championship will be played in Poland from July 16-21 and Ali Bokahri, Tayyab Aslam and Ammad Fareed have been named to take part in the mega-event, while Bilal Zakir and Israr Ahmed will be in reserves.

PSF Secretary Abdul Wahab Marwat said that the best players had been selected from the trials.

“We’ve selected the best players after trails in two phases,” Marwat told The Express Tribune. “The reserve players may get a chance if the organisers felt that they haven’t received sufficient number on entries.”
