University of California, AAUR to collaborate

Both institutes will initiate educational, cultural programmes.

The University of California and the Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi (AAUR) have agreed to undertake collective research projects in the field of agriculture.


An agreement to this effect came at a meeting between AAUR Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Rai Niaz Ahmad and Dr Mark A Bell, Director College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, University of California on Monday.

Both the universities also agreed to initiate educational and cultural programmes.



The AAUR vice-chancellor briefed the visiting guest about the mandate, functions, programmes, achievements and future plans of the university.

He said that the university had active research and academic collaboration agreements with other educational institutes across the country and look forward to collaboration with foreign universities for its faculty development and research projects.

“Students and faculty exchange programmes between the two universities will strengthen educational ties as well as bond of friendship between people of the two countries,” he added.
