In the 49kg last-four clashes, Sindh’s Jahanzeb threw several successful punches as he sealed his place in the final in style, winning against Fata’s Rehmat with a big margin of 23-7. Army’s Mohammad Noman pipped Navy’s Daud Khan after a close bout, winning 11-7 and will be meeting Jahanzeb for a shot at the title.

PBF Secretary Akram Khan said the federation would finalise five best boxers from the event who will go on to participate in the Asian Boxing Championship that is scheduled to be held in Jordan next month.
“This competition is of great importance for everyone as five boxers will be shortlisted to participate in the Asian championship,” Akram told The Express Tribune. “We’re scrutinising the performance of every pugilist in this championship because we have to pick the best in different categories by the end of this event.”
Talking about a parallel boxing body run by Doda Khan Bhutto and Iqbal Hussain, the official said they had little chance of obtaining a No-Objection Certificate from the government if they fail to garner recognition by the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB).
