Did you know?: Internet sensation Grumpy Cat to star in a film

We are all familiar with funny pictures and memes that go viral on the internet everyday especially on social networking websites like Facebook and Myspace. One of the most popular memes of last year is Grumpy Cat, which got shared and re-memed by lots of people and shot to fame internationally with multiple pages such as Manhoos Billi which was created by our very own Pakistan.

Grumpy Cat will now be getting the Hollywood treatment in an upcoming film, the feline’s manager Ben Lashes said. The infamous cat, whose real name is Tarder Sauce, went viral last year after the owner of Grumpy Cat’s brother, Ryan, posted a photo of the cat on the user-submitted social news site Reddit.

The yet-to-be-titled film will be produced by Broken Road Paroductions, which has been behind films such as Kevin James’ 2009 comedy Paul Blart: Mall Cop, and Adam Sandler’s 2011 comedy, Jack and Jill.

Grumpy Cat is no stranger to cameras, having already appeared on US morning show Good Morning America and CNN’s Anderson Cooper’s daytime talk show, Anderson Live.

The official Grumpy Cat page on Facebook has over 956,000 likes.
