Danish, who was aiming to win his career’s second $10,000 prize, lost with game scores of 11-8, 11-7, 11-13, 11-2.
However, the defeat did not sit down well with the 19-year-old who has lodged a complaint with the PSA and Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) over ‘biased refereeing’, said an official close to the player.
“Danish has lodged a complaint against the referee’s decisions,” the official told The Express Tribune. “He says the Egyptian was awarded points at important stages which turned the tie in his favour.”
Meanwhile, in the other semi-final, home favourite Abdullah al Muzayen thrashed Egypt’s Mazen Hesham Ga Sabry 3-0 to setup a showdown against Andrew.
