Shehla Raza takes oath as Sindh Assembly deputy speaker

PPP leader served as deputy speaker in the previous elected government.

KARACHI: Amid cheers by jiyalas, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Shehla Raza took oath as the Deputy Speaker of the Sindh Assembly on Thursday, Express News reported.

She garnered a total of 86 votes in the provincial assembly and emerged as the clear winner against Nusrat Seher Abbasi with 18 votes and Heer Soho with 46 votes.

She took oath as the deputy speaker while her supporters chanted slogans of PPP.

Raza has also served as a Deputy Speaker in the previous elected government.

Earlier in the day, PPP leader Agha Siraj Durrani was elected as the speaker of the Sindh Assembly.

Durrani secured 87 out of a possible 155 votes. He took oath under the supervision of the outgoing speaker Nisar Khoro.

Why Karachi is to be ruled by Interior Sindhs Waderas ? We feed Pakistan and its military . We generate 70% + revenue .Why we cannot have our own government ?
