MINGORA: One person was killed and five others were injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast in Swat on Tuesday.

According to the security forces, an elder of the local peace committee, Mian Sher Ali Jaja, along with his family was in his vehicle when a roadside planted bomb exploded.

The bomb attack killed Jaja’ son and severely injured others who were present inside the vehicle. The injured were shifted to the Saidu Teaching hospital where, according to the doctors, they are in critical condition.

Security forces, soon after the incident, cordoned off the area and started a search operation. However, no arrest was reported till the filing of this report.

Jaja was on his way to district Shangla to extend his condolences to the sufferers of another bomb blast in the area that killed five including a DSP.
