Tayyab Subhani, 30, and Mohammed Safdar, 41, both residents of Nelson, Lancashire, had been detained at Stansted airport after the Manchester bound plane was diverted there on Friday. The pair had been charged with endangering the aircraft on Sunday.
The men appeared in a Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on Monday where Magistrate Sarah-Jane Davies refused an application to grant the men bail and remanded them in custody until August 5.
The defendants, Subhani, a taxi driver, and Safdar, a restaurant worker, spoke only to confirm their names and addresses.
Their lawyer said that their clients intended to plead not guilty.

@Ahmed: They re living in UK.
@&Kay is an Internet troll that throws these inflamed statements to get a rise. Most posters use fake names as they do not have the guts to reveal their true identity when they comment.
I would say they should be asked to pay the additional cost incurred by PIA as well as the RAF as a direct result of their actions. This punishment should be sufficient to deter other people from acting irresponsibly on board a plane.

@Kay: No they havnt, they were shot and are still in hospital. Other suspects have been released on bail.
On the other hand two Nigerians who killed British Army Drummer have been granted bail.
I'm shocked. I though they were rocket scientists for sure.
They should not be granted bail on immediate basis. Such people should be taught a lesson so that no one dares to pull off such stunts in future. Unfortunately this disease runs in the uncivilized Pakistani society !!
