LAHORE: About 22 per cent of the adult female population works and contributes to gross domestic product (GDP), but most of them in deplorable conditions, according to a discussion at the concluding session of a media training workshop here on Thursday. Gender inequality and harassment are common at the workplace, said Afia Salam, at the Reporting Gender and Labour Issues workshop. South Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan are particularly regressive in this regard, she added. The workshop was organised by Intermedia with the cooperation of the International Labour Organisation and Canadian International Development Agency.
