LAHORE: The traffic police has devised alternative traffic plans for the routes of the proposed second and third Metro Bus lines on Multan Road and GT Road, said Chief Traffic Officer Sohail Chaudhry on Thursday. The traffic enforcement chief and other officers visited the proposed routes – Thokar Niaz Beg to MAO College on Multan Road and Azadi Chowk to Baghbanpura on GT Road – as well as the alternatives proposed for when construction work begins. Addressing officials at the site, the CTO said that comprehensive traffic diversion plans had been prepared. Around 800 wardens would be deployed at the proposed routes. He said that traffic police had done a good job in keeping traffic moving during the construction of the Metro Bus route from Shahdara to Gajju Mata route and they would hopefully do so again during the building of the second and third routes.
