Pakistan-Iran Ties: Iranian vice president phones Nawaz

Rahimi congratulated Sharif on his party’s victory in Pakistan elections, Fars News Agency reported.

ISLAMABAD: Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and Nawaz Sharif, whose Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz won last week’s parliamentary elections, discussed avenues for Pakistan-Iran ties in different fields.

Rahimi congratulated Sharif on Monday on his party’s victory in Pakistan elections, Fars News Agency reported.

During the phone conversation, Rahimi expressed the hope that the two countries’ relations would witness further growth and prosperity under the new government in Islamabad.

He reiterated Tehran’s preparedness to supply a major part of Pakistan’s gas and electricity needs.
