Custody: Baby handed over to mother

Margaret Bibi had contended that Babar Masih’s parents are not handing the child to her despite repeated requests.

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Sadiq Masood on Tuesday gave custody of a baby boy to his mother. The father of the child is in jail allegedly for trying to set her on fire. Margaret Bibi had married Babar Masih, a year ago, and the couple had a baby boy, Jeven Masih. On February 15, 2013, Babar allegedly tried to kill his wife by throwing kerosene oil at her and setting her on fire. Nishat Colony police registered an FIR against Babar Masih and arrested him. Margaret Bibi had contended that Babar Masih’s parents were not handing the child to her despite repeated requests.
