Earlier this month, three top Indian cricket players in the multi-billion dollar Indian Premier League (IPL), which was racing to a grand finale, were arrested hours after the match on charges of match-fixing.
The police also arrested 11 bookies, who allegedly paid over INR 1.2 crore ($ 0.2 million) to the three players for bowling one ‘fixed’ over each in three matches held over the past 10 days.
Vindoo was arrested days after the arrest of three bookies. He was under Mumbai Police surveillance since the bookies were arrested.
Mumbai crime branch found strong evidences regarding Vindoo’s links with bookie Ramesh Vyas, who has been a central figure in the spot-fixing scandal.
Vindoo Dara Singh, son of late wrestler-turned-actor Dara Singh, is the winner of the third season of reality TV show Bigg Boss.
Earlier in the day, the Indian apex court refused to bring IPL to an end with few days left for the grand finale, saying that the entire IPL can't be banned just because of certain irregularities on the part of a few players.
The Supreme Court also ordered BCCI to submit its report on the spot-fixing scandal within 15 days.

@Mohinder sandhu:
"No body gonna have a wider smile other than the pakistanis if IPL is banned."
I'm sorry to burst your bubble.
The widest smile will be on all those sane Indians who believe IPL is a curse on the game of cricket and IPL is simply bad for India.
@Wassim:
As if there are any chances of Pakistan catching it's players "internally"! BTW, the biggest scandal I see here is that this guy is being referred to as an actor.
@ big fishes are not from pak and saudi, they are from INDIA
No body gonna have a wider smile other than the pakistanis if IPL is banned.We understand that perfectly,but the facts put forward by pakistanis are just wishful thinking.IPL is growing and getting bigger everyday. Players from all over the world are coming to india to play Even pakistani players will jump to the opportunity if .allowed.I don't think anybody realise how humiliated sreesanth and other players feel.They lost all respect, that they earned over the years of hard work.THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS, IT IS BEING INVESTIGATED BY INDIAN POLICE AT THE COMPLAINT OF SOME INDIAN REPORTER,AND IT IS GOING TO THE ROOTS OF THE PROBLEM.
@abdussamad: He is the former wrestler and actor Dara Singh's son and at one point was married to Tabu's sister Farah. HE does bit roles on TV so it is not surprising you have not heard of him.
@antanu5: no Mr antanu g. bigger fishes are still there from pakistan and saudi. what we are seeing in India side is middlemen and end side. that is why Govt is very serious about this. hoping your religious priority doesn't make you blind.
@dude: no dude....accept the truth....all bdtting and fixing origins lead ti india...because cri ket is the biggest minter.as indian we should not shy away from the fact . when pakistanis were caught...all were talikg about culprit players...which was wrong.fortunately now they are talking about bigger menace....the source of fixing money...the bookies. .
@vasan: let this saga unfold, i have started to read reports that main actors of this fixing are from Pakistan. we may soon hear dawood ibrahim's hand in this. Our ambassador went to protect our nationals as you are never a criminal unless proved. Did you saw any major protest from any section of Pakistani society when they were proved guilty? and i haven't seen any of the players accepting fixing in India either so chill out.
let the game begin !
@Absolute: on cricketing note, Younus Khan let Pakistan to T20 glory but that doesn't make him a top T20 player for Pakistan? I remember Srisanth being smacked to all parts of ground in T20 final in 2007 and he didn't played much games in 2011 also. btw when was last time he played for India in test cricket which i call the real cricket?
@Water Bottle: You are probably not familiar with @Kaalchakra. He is not being sarcastic. He actually has some very interesting views.
I have never heard of this actor before.
@Absolute: get a life please......
@kaalchakra:
awwww.....this world is cruel on Innocent Pakistan.I support you on this.Pakistanis should stand up along with their ever "sincere" and "gentlemen" cricket team and file a case against everyone in every matter.
@Saim Baig:
oh my my, when did cricket in Pakistan become of that of "gentlemen"?
And what will the ICC do which is not being done by BCCI?
This menace of ‘match fixing’ needs to be eradicated from the game of cricket. I think the game of cricket will start losing fans if it is not eliminated.
Ali Khan
@kaalchakra:
You have a good sense of humor. Sarcasm of yours is the best in here. However, keep it one or two lines, sarcasm works much better when it is shorter.
@waseem sarwar Sir, there is a difference. Pakistan had its captain involved, and one of the world's best emerging player, Muhammad Amir, revealed that the captain himself was urging the players to go for spot-fixing. Whereas in this case, one is dropped Indian player, others never have came close to representing India. There is a clear difference sir.
Wow some things never change ! The saving grace for india was that it was discovered internally unlike the way our players were handled in England !! Still the damage has been done.
waseem sarwar >The reason for Pakistan getting blamed is because 1. The Pakistani ambassador went out of the way to defend pak players 2. Pak players claimed ignorance then, now and will do so in future 3. Many pakistanis and pak media started conspiracy theories blaming RAW, CIA, Jesus, Rama, Krishna , Buddha et all 4. India did none of the above esp 3rd point.
I am totally disgusteed with the cavalier manner in which this scandal is being handled by Indians. So many cheats - Pakistanis can understand that since they have been cheated by India for the last 65 years. Nobody is being punished or doing anything about it. On the other hand, Pakistan was declared international pariah for most minor offenses that occured by mistake.
IPL together with bollywood facilitates fixing to reach its highest commercial status & volume ever, that is unstoppable now!! ICC should be renamed as World Cricket Entertainment!
They say, cricket is a gentleman's game, but it reality, Indian are despreate to prove otherwise. Wake Up ICC, get out of India's greed based $$$ and act to save the game.
Good Job Delhi Police
@waseem sarwar: Sreesanth was part of the 2007 T20 and 2011 wc final teams. You just implied the fact that the best teams india can select consist of mediocre players.
And i thought our police was good for nothing. Great job guys, you have re-earned our respect. Clean out the trash from our cricket.
Only if there was a world body which can catch the main culprits from all over the world where they are out of Indian law.
Pakistan can be labelled as a cheat nation while three of our starts were found, but you can't blame IPL for this? btw i don't think they were three top Indian players either. Two of them never made it into India national team while the third was a mediocre bowler who got lucky to play few tests for India.
bigger fishes are from pakistan and saudi
And it keeps getting better!! Gentlemans Game was dead in India long ago!! ICC is sleeping!!
