ABBOTABAD:

A seminary teacher was abducted by unidentified men from his house in Dhamtor village, three kilometres from Abbottabad, on Monday morning.

According to Nawanshehr police station SHO Javed Khan, Muhammad Farooq told the police someone knocked at their house at 1am. When Farooq’s younger brother Qari Saqib, a teacher at a seminary, went to answer the door, seven unidentified men barged in.

According to the complainant, the men were in civilian clothes and told the family members to stay silent as they were taking Saqib with them to further an investigation of a case and would release him later.

Farooq said his family assumed the intruders were police personnel, but when they went to Nawanshehr police station they were informed Saqib had not been taken away by law enforcement agencies. An FIR was filed. The missing teacher’s family later protested near the deputy commissioner’s office in Abbottabad.
