President rejects Punjab governor’s resignation

Zardari advises Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood to continue his work.

Mehmood had filed his resignation earlier this week.

ISLAMABAD/ LAHORE: President Asif Ali Zardari has rejected the resignation of Governor Punjab Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood and has advised him to continue his work, Express News reported.

The Governor of Punjab had sent his resignation to the president after the defeat of the Pakistan People Party in general elections of May 11.

However, the president has rejected his resignation and asked him to continue his work as governor till a new governor is appointed.
