Bad news: KESC increases load shedding by 2 hours

Federal and provincial government owe Rs71 billion to KESC.

KARACHI: The duration of load shedding is to be increased from seven hours to nine hours across Karachi, Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) announced on Tuesday, Express News reported.

Earlier on May 4, KESC had explained, on their Facebook page, the need to increase duration of load shedding.

KESC had tried its best to recover its dues from the governments of Pakistan and Sindh and forward the payments to fuel suppliers, in order to meet the power generation needs.

According to them, Federal and provincial governments owe Rs71 billion to KESC.

The electric supply company had went on to warn that the duration of load shedding may go up to 14 hours if dues are not cleared.
