Official results: Chaudhry Nisar edged by PTI for NA-53 seat

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Ghulam Sarwar Khan won the NA-53, Rawalpindi 4 seat, official results revealed by the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) showed on Monday.

The former leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Chaudhary Nisari Ali Khan from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was edged out even though he secured 102,142 votes. His opponent from the PTI managed to get 110,308 votes.

PTI supporters have recently taken to the streets across Pakistan protesting against the alleged rigging that took place in the general elections on Saturday.

@ahmed: With all due respect, a very ignorant statement you've made. If you can read, you would known, PTI was right in demanding a recount and hence the result. Understand this; it's not about being a sore loser it's about winning on merit and PML N have NOT won on merit. Once justice is served, there's plenty of time to congratulate Nawaz.

@ahmed: Did you actually read the article or is it your habit to moan for no reason ? The difference is approx. 7000+ votes on a recount. How could this be an error in the first place ? Errors are made when a few hundred votes were not counted properly.

PTI is entirely justified in their protests. And this is a good example.
