The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to accept the results of the general elections of the country, despite concerns about pre-poll rigging.
“In spite of the serious reservations of the party regarding pre-poll rigging, ANP decides to accept the results of the general elections of the country,” said a press release issued by ANP on Monday.
Amir Haider Khan secured the NA-9 seat from Mardan, the only seat ANP has won in the National Assembly thus far.
A meeting of the Central Consultative Committee of ANP was held on Monday in Islamabad, chaired by party president Asfandyar Wali Khan.
Upon analysing the electoral process, the committee concluded that pre-poll rigging occurred in the form of violent attacks, especially against the ANP.
The press release claimed that the party “was attacked 31 times during its campaign in which scores of party activists were martyred and wounded.”
Despite their claims of pre-poll rigging, the party accepted the elections results.
“As custodians of democratic traditions, we will play our role in strengthening democratic process in the country.”
Asfandyar further lauded the courage and determination of party workers who campaigned for ANP despite serious threats to their lives.

all over pakistan people voted for imran khan. but ANP were the only who accepted the decision while the rest of the parties such as PML N, PPP, MQM started firing on polling stations and rigged the elections. ANP #respect

Hats off to the dignity and greatness of ANP leadership. Even though these blood stained and terrorist hijacked elections were openly staged to give unfair advantage to PTI and PML-N yet the extent of defeat demands that in any case the results would have been their defeat. Bowing down to the people's will is the best way to serve democracy. PPP and ANP have been decimated in previous elections also but they always rebounded. Let the two prodigies of TTP rule the KPK and Pakistan and eliminate terrorism, drone attacks, safe havens for terrorists in Pakistan and provide power to people. Let us hold their feet to the fire and let them fulfill some of their basic promises.
Taliban cannot be future of any nation. The only political party bravely stood in the way of Taliban is ANP. They put their lifes on for future of Pashtuns and Pakistan. I cannot understand how this party can be voted out!
Why accept if there is clear reservation?
As muslims we should not stay silent at the wrongs. If we believe there is injustice we have to stand up to it. That is what Allah's messenger has taught us. Kudos to PTI for standing up for justice. Free elections are vital for Pakistan.

Red Salam to ANP leaders.... i am not worried that, why PTI won such score in khyber pakhtoonkhwa but i am worry and would to say to all those pakhtoons, who didn't vote for ANP. as ANP leaders played with their lives; who wrote history with their blood; who gave the name us and identity to us; who washed our dirt and gave pens in our hands instead of guns and saved us from others war. unfortunately once again we are going to ready to fight for other war. why did PTI not get such score in panjab. as they are more patriotic than paskhtoon and they have more contribution for pakistan...
