ECP summons emergency meeting on rigging complaints

Meeting will also discuss reports from returning officers of Karachi NA-250 constituency.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) summoned an emergency meeting in Islamabad on Monday to assess complaints of rigging received from across the country, reported Express News.

The meeting will be headed by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ebrahim, during which reports by districts returning officers and returning officers of Karachi NA-250 constituency will also be reviewed.

Several mainstream parties of the country have claimed that rigging took place on many seats affecting the election results.

Cell phone videos shot inside polling booths and pictures which revealed rigging also went viral on the internet.
