Enraged by what he called “false accusations” of rigging, Altaf warned the establishment to respect the mandate of Karachi. Painting a bleak picture, he said that if this mandate of the people was unacceptable to the establishment then instead of hurling abuses at the party, they should separate the city from the country. He said there was a limit to tolerating false accusations against the party.
“Stop hating us and don’t force us to demand a separate province or country,” said Altaf, asking his supporters to be mentally prepared as he would call on them in a day or two, and then he will “see who is capable of creating havoc in the city.”
Responding to accusations of rigging by Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e Islami (JI) and others, he said, “If you claim that we have rigged the elections in Karachi, where did the tsunami go in Punjab?” He said that if parties want to criticise them then they should do so with proofs, and not indulge in abusive language.
Listing the party’s middle class credential, the MQM chief lashed out at protesting PTI activists gathered at Teen Talwar in Clifton calling them the “burger” class. “I don’t want to fight with you, otherwise my people could have turned the symbolic Teen Talwar into real sword on one order of mine.”
Delivering a fiery speech, the MQM chief warned, “You are playing with fire. If you don’t stop hatred towards Karachi and MQM, then this fire will spread all over the country.”
Taking the former ruling party to task, Altaf said that had the MQM not supported Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) despite having grievances, the PPP coalition government wouldn’t have lasted more than a year.
He reminded his supporters that despite deaths, bombings and threats the highest number of MQM voters had risked their lives to vote. He alleged that the media was showing anti-MQM demonstrators but did not speak of the thousands of MQM voters who turned up to support the party on polling day. “If media and politicians continue their conspiracies against us then…we will break their arms,” he warned.
MQM leader said that his party had secured 10,000 votes in Punjab and would sweep the next elections. In a warning directed at the election commission, Altaf asked the commission to take ‘just’ decisions.
Wrapping up his speech, the MQM chief said that he only had love for his people but warned once again that “If only Punjab is considered the entire country, then the future would be disastrous.”

Altaf bhai finally show his true colours.
@ali: Mustafa Kamal went all out and worked for the city and didnt take anything. If he were from any other party but MQM he would have made money from each contract he made on behalf of the metropolitan for developing the infrastructure of the city. He did all he could when he had the authority. The irony is that party which has the mandate is occasionally given authority.
Karachi belongs to Sindhis. It does not belong to MQM or Punjabis. We are second class citizens in our own land.
From being an overseas observer, I'm appalled by the election farce.
It's surprising the Pakistani authorities haven't taken any action against the hate speech made by this unpleasant person. I find it astounding that he can be a party leader whilst staying in London. All his speeches should be banned from air.
@Aysha: Please ask the people who have always been elected with absolute majorities from this city. Obviously there is a great desire 'to take but not to give back' from poor karachi. Provincial governments, their workers and leas together run a city. And obviously recruitment has always been politically motivated so there is no excuse to blame others.
Altaf Sahib, with all due respect to your opinions I would request that you use language befitting your age, your stature as a leader of an important segment of society. Everytime your party members need to do damage control and rescript what you have said; you lose out on much of your party support and your credibility. You cannot justify your position just on past glories alone........... you need to show that you are more than a leader of a gang of gun toting ruffians. That is the image you are increasingly presenting and why there are inroads in your votebank. Please accept the reality and become a positive part of the government of which you have always been instead of always accusing others.
@Raja Islam:
Seems you do not know the correct definition of 'Muhajir'- cant blame as urdu is not your first language. Muhajir means 'one who migrates' or 'immigrant'. We are permanent immigrants or permanent muhajirs. So we are here to stay and remember that 66 years is enough time for Karachi and Hyderabad to become ours!
@Aysha: why don't you ask your leader to visit Pakistan and than start interfering in Pakistani politics. you are guys are in power since ages but Karachi is dying.
@rafi: you are here again with your lie and biase. Man why you dont go through Pakistan movement history. Biggest migration of mankind history and massacre of millions made Quaid e Aazam sad. Can you deny this. Please do not put forward your this peace of information again becuase it is totally a lie and misleading
@bitter truth: Please read Tariq Ali
@FN: ET deserves better quality of comments
@Uza Syed: thank you Uza , what a sane an logical reply to so much of hue and cry over a response when karachi has been treated as stepbrother for so long
@Aysha: ask ur parents when did they came to pakistan most of urdu speaking came here in 60s and 70 go and check ur records
@Aysha: If you live in Karachi then you should know that these are not unsubstantiated allegations. Everyone living in Karachi whether rich or poor has been touched by the tentacles of the MQM. By the way Ishrat-ul-Ebad, Farooq Sattar and Mustafa Kamal may be your role models but not of the majority of Karachiites.
@Muhajir: Muhajir by definition is a refugee who has fled his home under duress. The whole idea is to return home when things improve. Given the status that you profess, as a foreign refugee who has given you the right to break up the country that gave you refuge? Maybe it is time for you to go back to your home in India.
@Sheen: It is quite arrogant to assume that all urdu speaking people are mqmeez
Although I voted for PTI, I suggest the party should refrain from derailing the democratic process. It wasn't to be a one day revolution and even though we know there was much rigging across the country, we should slowly seep into this hardened corrupt democratic process. Please accept the result in the best interest of everyone and to let peace take over all over country. We should let people live their normal lives and persuade them through our good policy implementation and actions in KPK.
Its time to work guys, stop protesting. Cheers.
all provinces should unite & expel karachi like malaysian provinces did earlier. then karachi can turn into another cosmopolitan business hub like singapore. best of luck for success of new singapore model.
Nawaz Sharif should not mind holding re elections in all of Punjab has such a huge mandate there.@khalid irfan:
@Aysha: "Just sacrifice life and property at the time of partition and then leave and die or live in camps" You are misrepresenting the spirit of sacrifice of your (and my) forefathers. Please do not disgrace their sacrifices, which were undertaken without any motive for reward. We so-called Mohajirs have done quite well in Pakistan. Let us be greatful.
@gp65, agreed maam,
@Aysha: it was the urdu speaking mohajir who conspired againist bengali mojority. urdu speaking people from its very begining was discriminatory againist bengali people, because urdu speaking people were in admistration, urdu speaking people who were less than 4% of pakistani population wanted to dominate by oppressing bangali majority, urdu speaking mohajir banned bengali langugae in pakistan, when bengalis rose up againist it ,urdu speaking admistered ordered killing of bengalis in 1952. whish the world world today celebrate international mother language day today 21st february.liaqat ali khan hated bengalis but he had no other option but to ask the bengali people for his assembly seat in east bengal.because no people in punjab or sindh will support liqat in any contituency.
how u gonna seprated karachi from rest of pakistan its not a Bengal which was thousand of miles away and( had putson revenue in billions hahahahah) i wish u peoples had never migrated from a india.
Mr Altaf Hussain you guys are in power since more than decades and your government or governor failed to save the innocent lives so please accept your failure and support someone who can actually save Karachi Pakistan.
@Sheen: you are a true example of bias karachiate by dragging Urdu speaking people into MQM. the issue is rigging which was witnessed across the Sindh.
Educated karachiete should learn from KP....
@Iffy: It's all about different treatment of Karachi for past 65 years.
@Aysha: What a load of bull.
If Karachi does not get its rights, this will be another Bangladesh. They generate 67 per cent of the revenue and in return they get Zulifqar Mirza.
first they were crying they not getting rights in india living with hindu brothers now they crying against sindhi, pathans what next they gonna do i think democracy is not for muslims
karachi was a beacon of light in asia when other cities were in the dark. lets reignite that flame of hope and opportunity for all the citizens of pakistan by requesting his extradition from the UK and putting him on trial for all the wrongs he has committed against the innocent civilian population. perhaps at last the pakistani spring has arrived and the wronged no longer want to treated as slaves by these thugs.
@Aysha: bravo wonderful analysis of karachi situation , retrain acceptance of leadership of each community is the best way forward .It is crystal clear that voting has been purely on ethinic basis , all punjabis voted for nawaz sharif , all pukhtoons voted for Imran who is a pathan and most sindhis voted for PPP , their sindhi leadership , so why so much fuss if karachiites have overwhelmingly voted for MQM for being urdu speaking their voice.
@Aysha:
A very good reply. I really appreciate it. It seems you are one of the insiders of MQM. Then don't you see whats wrong going on inside. If you don't, it is surprising! And it would confirm that MQM has now converted into a covert organization like Freemasons, a secret brotherhood type of thing. Believe me it was not found on the basis of what it has become now.
@Salman: And that is why MQM should accept PMLn MANDATE and not give provocationary statements .PMLn has represenation in all provinces . See results of PA's. If Karachi is part of Sind which AH has said many times, then why cant PPP make Govt alone. MQM should do better politics than blackmailing. They have public support but if they continue their arm twisting methods they will damage Karachi and the country.
@Imtiaz: It will be worth watching what action will British authorities and law take when a person is openly threatening nationals of another country from their soil.
With due respect to all MQM supporters.. I think it’s time for MQM to change its leader, people within their community are now raising voices against the amateurish and uncalled for attitude of Mr Altaf.. They have much betta faces of Faisal sabazwari and Mr Kamal to lead there party …. U just cannot threat entire nation the way he did its getting embarrassing and discomforting now….
Let us see how do British authorities and law deal with some one who is openly threatening nationals of other country from their soil.
@Black Widow: Dear All, Please understand that Mr. Altaf Hussain is a leader for millions. After 11th May Elections, we must all exercise maturity and restrain. Please refrain from using disrespectful language for a person who is considered a leader by millions, not because you have any respect for such a selfless leadership unheard of in Pakistan, but in respect of those who feel blessed to have a leader like him.
All the commentators are educated and serious minded people and that should reflect in our responses.
We must also encourage media personnel and politicians to show respect to the mandate of the people of Karachi or provide undeniable evidence in the court of law.
It is very easy to make allegations and keep doing it endlessly and untiringly, but is it also suggested that in the presence of international observers, our hawkish media, the independent judiciary and a powerful army, MQM has been rigging elections for the past 3 decades. Please analyse this before being judgemental. If you are committed to analysis, you will see that PTI is actually MQM’s struggle reaching its fruition. Before the inception of MQM, the parliament houses were meant for feudal, landlords and industrialist. It was MQM that led the path of middle class people engaging in politics and introducing sense and culture to the legislative process and then PTI emulated the model put in place by MQM, hence Asad Omer. The likes of Asad Omer, would not have chosen to get involved in politics, if there were no role models like Mustafa Kamal, Ishratul Ibad, Farooq Sattar and the list goes on. All that needs to be encouraged is to find a way to address the issues on ground, and the beginning of the solution lies in local body elections and subsequent empowerment. Please understand that it would be detrimental to all involved if people continued with unsubstantiated allegation. Please read the title of the news item again Lashing out: Detach Karachi if you don’t accept our mandate, says Altaf
stop interfering and creating issues for pakistan when you are already detached. enjoy your remaining life in UK.
A UK citizen has no right to talk about the national integrity of pakistan, Why you don't come here if you have such emotional relation with pakistanis?
@SK: wondeful academic response give autonomy to karachi like all mega cities , around the world , london ,newyork , etc the mayor is the powerful admistrator , and mustafa shown us the skills that he can do it
@Hammad: We will do that and believe me Karachi wont be a part of Pakistan anymore if you carry on like that.
@Adnan Khawaja: He is not just a resident now but a British citizen for so many years.
Government, Judiciary and Army of Pakistan should take notice of such speech, and take strict action, to cap such parties before anything destructive happen with Pakistan.
@GhostRider:
'Altaf does not holds the mandate in Karachi. And there is no India between Karachi and Karachi. :D'
And doesn't it worry you, that you need such assurance, even for your largest City and Financial capital.
The walls of Karachi haven't forgotten the smear campaign - then called public reaction -against Imran Khan a little while back....a specimen can still be found on the wall of a house just opposite the Chiniot Hospital Korangi (right beside the 'Qilla Altaf' slogan). Seems like it hurts both ways, Mr Hussain.
Mustafa Kamal has done a lot for Karachi, why doesnot Taffy bhai make him the chairman of MQM ?
A big shame for this British resident.
Everything is rosy so long as they are in government. The moment they're out of government, they start playing the Karachi card.
It is amazing how local in KArachi are treated as imigrants by MQM while one in UK for 20 years is considered local.
He must come to Pakistan like Musharaf. He should be loyal to Pakistan. Every party do rigging in Election.....We must show Honesty in every thing & as muslim we must follow the Basic rules of Islam under one Flag......No one take money & properties in QABAR............
I am a Muhajir but MQM does not represents me!
Mr. Altaf Hussain is wrong in some of his statements he made in years after years the truth is. 1) MQM is not a democratic party it is a Dictator party no one in the party can raise voice against him and his thoughts. 2) People gave lot to MQM. MQM doesn't deliver Karachiites what they deserves as MQM is become a menace to society. 3) If he has such a kind hearted and care for Karachi people why he accept the UK citizenship at first place, why he isn't coming to Pakistan?
What he said is right, detach karachi from pakistan.Karachi should consider as a seperate country
He should behave. Neither Karachi is his property nor people living there his slaves. MQM will be cut to size by the Pakistan affectionate and Karachi loving people. ANP is an example. This man has no right over Karachi. Can he produce a single income tax return that he has ever contributed to the goodwill of its people.
Sitting four thousand miles away with a British nationality making noise........incredible.
@Khan: In Karachi, people vote for MQM, not new or old entrant. Further ANP accepted defeat depcratically, this is great. But why PTI guys or others for that matter think that this time they will sweep Karachi ? The difference of votes is enough to vindicate. Rigging takes place every wher. But please think honestly in this era of vigilant media is it possible to cast 100,000 bogus votes ?
@Sindhi_Pakistani: Way to go bro. Your comments and commendable.
@joker744: your name says it all about you.
The speech is the first reaction of Mr. Altaf Hussain which is always extremist. Then should come a pacifying statement after being contacted by someone....you know who....
The time to separate Karachi from Pakistan is over. Mohajir wont let him do it. The best advise to MQM is to sit in the opposition and re-organize itself. There are all criminals on the forefront of this party.. the higher the position the more corrupt is the leader.
Altaf Hussain should carry out elections within the party and bring new blood into the mainstream leadership and get rid of this rotten Rabita Committee as soon as possible.
I think MQM shouldnt have any issue or fear if they think they have this huge mandate in Karachi and allow ECP to re-election in Karachi on demand by people from Karachi.
@HH would have stopped 1971 partition had there been internet at that time - with his threatening comments under articles.
Pls call me if Karachi is going to be independent. I want to invest $1B and become PM of the new country - Karachistan.
Altaf does not holds the mandate in Karachi. And there is no India between Karachi and Karachi. :D
@Amir: Please read the title of the news item, there is an 'if' there, and calm down, as a responsible commentator, this is what one must do
A speech of frustrated individual. He can now foresee sitting in opposition (both National and Sindh level) for the next 5 years.... something he is not accustomed to!
@Ali: If I were you, I would be more careful with choice of words.
When power of the people was coupled with authority, we saw massive development in the city. The unbaised world appreciated the efforts of the dynamic mayor Mustafa Kamal, who managed billions of rupees and didnt pocket a coin.
With the transport sytem, please try to understand that the entire transport system is in the hands of 'the least educated and most temperamental' who unfortunately are unable to understand that it is for the general well being of all citizens to have modern forms of transportation. They are just interested in self perpetuating and nothing more, at all cost. They have a nuisance value.
I am not sure today is a special day for whom, but I dont think I mentioned anything about Shahbaz Shareef, I think he has done a brilliant job, after his mandate was accepted
He should be charged for inciting hatred and violence. Judiciary and army should take notice of this statement.
Why does the MQM not think in Pakistan terms and only in terms of Karachi? Let it mainstream itself and get national recognition. Karachi was discriminated against but a more positive and nationally all-inclusive approach will be more successful in the long term in resolving the issues that the city faces.
No where is Pakistan the situation is as bad as it has been in Karachi in the last few years. If the elections were fair in Karachi, MQM would have won very few seats as the people in Karachi are sick and tired of them. Now their leader is openly threatening the Karachites! I was shocked at his statement; more shocking is that the establishment is quiet over this statement.
I am a karachiite. Live in north nazimabad, a mqm stronghold. People here voted for pti in large number because they are fed up of weekly Sogs, extortions etc. Yet the guy who came second in NA 245 was from PPP, its mind boggling.
Election results from karachi came in last when all tv stations were showing results from even far flung towns. Mqm would have won most seats without rigging too but with smaller margins. In their arrogance and perhaps a sense of panic they decided to go for rigging on mass scale.
I appreciate what MQM has done for karachi and they have tried to protect the interests of muhajirs but this party has lost track of its objectives and now only believes in violence to keep a hold on the city.
But karachi will no longer remain hostage to MQM.....
Karachi is and will remain a part of Pakistan; How dare does one talk about destabilizing the country and getting away with it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am a Karachite and a urdu-speaker. I have never voted for MQM. We have no problem in accepting the mandate of MQM if they win the elections by fair means. MQM doesn't believe in the freedom of expression and the freedom to vote for every Karachi citizen who doesn't belong to them. Thery are anti-democratic.
He has openly threatened everyone; is that the language of a polictical leader?! It is about time the establishment reacts to this and does something. He should be tried for treason!
Wow. This man who probably cannot look at himself in the mirror, sitting in a foriegn country gives directions to his followers to cut throats and make the city bleed. Grotesque as he might be, he must be smart or perhaps his followers are a bunch of idiots who fails to see the future he offers for their children. I pity such selfish people.
@Aysha, ah! so when you need seats you (MQM) say you have mandate and when it comes to making a mass transit system for Karachi, you expect Shabaz Sharif to come and make it for you? Are you just dumb or was this morning little special?
One silver-lining in these elections is that MQM has been comprehensively exposed. The British government is responsible for providing a safe haven to a criminal who has perpetrated countless crimes against the people of Karachi.
to All the MQM supporters Ranting abt no develpoment being done in karachi for ur kind Information MQM WAS IN GOV FOR LAST 10 YEARS allies with musharraf and PPP if there's no mass transit no tranport no security for ppl of KHI MQM is answerable to ppl along with PPP no one else! ppl vote u in gov so u could work for their betterment n if u cant do dat u sit in opposition only a fool would believe MQM,s claim dat they had no authority while still being in gov........n as for Altaf hussain's speech i agree with someone commenting above abt BB cuming n givin life for country instead for sitting out making Anti Pakistan speeches........MQM has shown their true face by this speech it was it is n will always b a Ghunda Party!
Today, in Karachi every single voter has its own story of being suppressed by "Namaloom Afrad" on the day of May 11. Just feeling sorry.... Heart shattered.
@Linchpin: You got it just right. And, now the bullying!
I am from Karachi and a supporter of MQM by default. Let me explain what I mean. MQM started well in late 1980s as a symbol of urban discontent. The support was genuine and infection and grassroots based. Hence, its wins in 1980s and most of 1990s were very authentic. It is true, however, that for most of the last decade it has gone wayward with Mustafa Kamal period showing what it can do if given a chance but the last 5 years with PPP showing that it can follow gutter politics too. However, the question is why does it continue to have a resonance among many (lets not try to deceive ourselves that it does not) and why like many like me continue to support it by default. The pure and simple reason is that there is no alternative. There is no other major political party or politician who are seen or shown themselves sincere to Karachi. Imran Khan could have swept half of MQM vote bank last year if he had come out openly in support of a strong metropolitan government in Karachi when the new ordnance was being discussed. Nawaz Sharif, the less said the better; could one even dream him of saying that the police in Karachi should be local, that a single agency should control the municipal limits of Karachi, the list goes on. No this wont happen. Hence, it is no wonder that anti mqm stance of national leaders is considered as nothing more than an anti Karachi stance. And this is why an MQM will always exist, no matter what.
Very clever Altaf Bhai this is precautionary threats to include MQM in the federal government or at least in the Sindh provincial government otherwise the next five years will be worst then the previous five years.
Accept the geniun mendate of karachi not the thappa mendata. MQM mendate is not original
I agree with Altaf Hussain here, not much media publicity, analysis happening on Lahore rigging, the haters only see Karachi and MQM. if you want to do accountability, do it across the board not to specific ethnicity, people and place.
Hmmm Sounds like High Treason.
@Khan101: All muhajirs please join your leader in London and leave pakistan alone if you love him so much
He openly threatened to butcher Pakistanis at teen talwar. Isnt our authorities going to take any legal action against him ?? Are we so helpless?
@mjk: Too good. Best comment of the post. Still laughing.
He is mad PML(N) in federal and PPPP in sindh has no need of MQM to form government. Ist time in MQM history .
They have one more chance to turn Karachi into peaceful and serene city (like Singapore)! And they are serious this time ... really!
They have one more chance to turn Karachi into a PEACEFUL city it once was! And this time they are really serious ... really!
@gp65: Dear Indian do you even know the dynamics of NA-250..do you know which areas fall under it...have you ever been out of Dehli or mumbai or wherever you live???
A Cancer grown to last stages... need a treatment badly...
@Abdul: Just sacrifice life and property at the time of partition and then leave and die or live in camps
@naeem khan Manhattan,ks: Prejudice can never be satisfied. they never had enough authority to bring any significant changes
“I don’t want to fight with you, otherwise my people could have turned the symbolic Teen Talwar into real sword on one order of mine.”
That is a polite way of putting what he said. What he said was "On one order from me my saathi using swords can chalni the people at 3 talwar"
What a statement from a leader of a major political party.
@Nitin: @gp65: It's not about losing but about rigging ... Please have a look at I.K's jalsas every single of them was much larger than PML(n) ... It was at least 50-70 seats for PTI with head to head competition ... In Karachi MQM's rigging was not only caught on camera but their results were mind boggling e.g one of candidate joined them few months ago and still managed to get round figure votes of 170,000 against mere 2000. In NA-256 from 10 polling Stations they got 5000 against 0 votes for their opponents.
Our ANP government in KPK has done many times more development works (8 universities etc) than PML(n) in Punjab but we accept our defeat from PTI since we know it was not rigged in KPK and people really want to overhaul and change the system instead of just road works etc.
@Salman: What vote rigging has to do with accepting a mandate ?
if they want their own province so badly, they can have a chunk of balochistan. Karachi is and always wil remain a part of Sindh. Its severely irritating when they speak about Karachi like its separate from Sindh.
There is a consensus emerging that Karachi should have a federal status linked to Islamabad, as it is the Mini - Pakistan.
@Khurram: Keep dreaming, delusional twat !
I am from Karachi. Karachi stands united against MQM. Besides, this is our country and city, not a property of a certain someone based in London. Either at the very least come here or better, please leave us alone. Benazeer came and sacrificed her life, did not issue threats harming the integrity of Pakistan from afar, that's a true leader regardless of her rights and wrongs! Need I say more?
Karachi is heart of Sindh and important city of Pakistan. Our Karachi is mixture of diverse cultures, languages and communities. This diversity is beauty. It is enriching. We all new and old Sindhis and people from other provinces living in Karachi share same problems, we all want better lives for us and our future generation. We want peace, and better facilities. We dont want hate, violence and politics of blackmailing. Whoever has problem living in Sindh or in Pakistan, they better leave, because Pakistan has no place for those who betray motherland. Pakistan is to last forever. Lets all unite and make it more stronger. Peace and Love for every one.
If Karachi does not get its rights, it may well be headed this way.
Not a fan of Zulfikar Mirza but It seems Zulfikar Mirza was right in saying what he said on oath. Today Altaf Bhai talks about break up of Pakistan. This is very shocking statement, it has hurt all Pakistanis. Who will take notice of such blatant statement against Pakistan?
Well said Altaf bhai, as enough is enough. Give us the respect we deserve as our ancestors are the who one who give their blood. For this country they left everything for this country and if we dont get the respect we deserve then another Bangladesh bound to be happen.
It's funny I am seeing the advert of an 'online anger-management class' on this news-screen, LOL.
The inherent demand made by Altaf to have the mandate honoured (except NA 250 where everyone knows there was a problem) is not unreasonable. The blackmail it comes with it is outright unacceptable. When dual nationals are not permitted in legislatures. How can the leader of the legislators be a dual national? I am sure he could not have made such a call if he was living in Karachi. Strange.
@Aysha: "Can somebody explain, why nobody ever thought of mass transit system in Karachi." Ask this question from MQM which has been there for decades in the driver's seat and who thinks they own Karachi. What has they done for all the people of Karachi except cronyism for their party members.
@Ayesha Bhaalay: Please remember what happened in 1971 when the mandate in what was then East Oakistan was not respected .
I am a third generation "Muhajir" with roots firmly in Karachi and want to condemn Altaf's statement for yet again playing the "ethnicity" card to the detriment of the people's will. The fact that MQM had to resort to mass scale rigging shows they are fast losing relevence among the people of Karachi.
I would request the authorities in Pakistan to take notice of Altaf Hussain's (a british national) blatant statement in which he is inciting violence against the people of Pakistan living in karachi. Moreover, Someone please file a suit in UK against Altaf Hussain for inciting violence against peaceful protestors.
he should be charged for treason with that statement
@Falcon: the people of Karachi are quite clear about their choice of leadership for over 3 decades now, pls refrain from making unsolicitated advice. Thank you so much
Learn to accept people's mandate dont repeat the mistakes of 1971. This is actually the message, if you try to understand
@HH:
Yeah, we have totally seen what we've done. In 1971.
Mqm has won 9 elections in Karachi since its birth, it would be really unfair to say that MQM has done rigging in the areas where Urdu speaking people holds the majority.
@concerned citizen: no they are busytaking notes from Baluchistan
Wow - should I read this presumably enraged threat as confirmation of all allegations and suspicsions around MQM ?
I thought MQM being so long in politics and power will act more mature !
BTW, Mr. Altaf is indicating his party's demand for independence - I will see how Pakistan responds to his statement and would like to compare it with Pakistan's response similar demands from Balochistan.
I have been talking to my Karachi friends. Post PML (N) sucess, they fear another military led operations targetting Urdu speaking Karachities and they are also not optimistic about any support from PML(N) led government. I just hope they are proved wrong in that.
Blackmailer - All possible rigging & boggus voting in Karachi, personally witnessed. Bogus mandate all over the city over gunpoint
bitter but truth, more rigging in punjab than karachi......????
if nothing else, hope the obesity saves us from him. please continue with your life style. please, please, please
Thanks Altaf Bhai, you have given us a great insight in what you believe in. Hopefully people of Karachi will makeup their mind after your rant. May Allah save our city.
Don't you dare Mr. Altaf, you haven't seen what we can do to keep Pakistan intact.
There aren't any elections in Karachi to rig - the city is run on fear and extortion. It is just another jagir run by gun tooting goons.
wow, these are blatant threats. is the army, judiciary etc. taking note?
Only Altaf bhai \m/
HH Altaf Hussain: Please, YOU, detach from Karachi, and leave us alone..
Its immature from Imran and other, not to accept lost seats results. !!!!!!
So after running it for the last 5, here's to what Karachi can expect for the next 5. More of the same from the man from London!
First come to Pakistan and then talk!!!!!!
He is trying to pressurise others to crush the demand of re election in Karachi
Altaf is right, in 1970 election we didn't accept Bengalis mandate and they eventually separated from us.
karachi is part of pakistan, not jageer of a UK national
Karachi belongs to Pakistan. It's Paksitan, it's Paksitan it's Paksitan... You ought to know!
MQM supporters can certainly do better than Altaf Hussain!
