KARACHI: The Pakistan Taekwondo Federation (PTF) will hold the International Taekwondo Demonstration on May 14 in Islamabad featuring 20 Korean athletes to promote diplomacy through sports

According to PTF secretary Wasim Ahmed, the demonstration by the Korean athletes will celebrate 30 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Korea. The athletes have already arrived for the event.

Ahmed says the performance by the Korean athletes will be a prelude to the ninth Korean Ambassador National Taekwondo Championship 2013. However, he said the highlight of the national championship will be the introduction of the electronic system by the PTF.

“The electronic system is the same one that was used in the Olympics last year,” Ahmed told The Express Tribune. It will monitor the player’s technique and accuracy. This way they will not be able to cheat.”
