The unabated violence and the string of bomb blasts failed to deter Karachi.

The residents turned up in huge numbers long before polling began to make queues and ensure they carry out their national duty. While a majority of them ended up standing on their feet for eight hours straight, others were able to cast their votes as smoothly as is possible in the city. The large number of elderly voters, young enthusiasts and overseas workers sure kept the rest of the voters motivated, as they braved the scorching sun.
