Twin blasts in Karachi kills 11, injures 30

An explosion took place near an office of ANP in Daud chali area in Qaidabad, Karachi

ANP candidate Amanullah Mehsud was coming out of his office when blast took place.

KARACHI:
Twin blasts in Daud Chali Qaidabad area of Karachi targeting a Awami National Party (ANP) candidate, killed eleven and injured around 30 including children, Express News reported on Saturday.

Around six to seven children were injured in the twin blasts.

While then first blast took place near an ANP office, the second blast reportedly took place in a rickshaw standing nearby.

ANP member Amanullah Mehsud, who is contesting elections from PS-128, was targeted in the attack.

He was coming out of his office when the blast took place and his car was severely damaged as a result.


Over 30 injured persons have been admitted in the Jinnah Hospital, Dr Seemi Jamali said.

The security officials reached the area a bit late but were forced to flee by the angry mob of the ANP workers present at the area.

Neither the rangers and nor the police reportedly came back to the area to investigate the blast.

The injured have been shifted to hospitals.

The nearby polling station has come to a halt.
