Polling day: Sindh IGP reviews final arrangements

Sindh Police have deployed 84,000 officials and personnel for security purposes on election day.

KARACHI: Sindh Police have deployed 84,000 officials and personnel for security purposes on election day. The personnel have been divided into 15,350 patrolling parties who would be performing their duties around the polling stations. This force includes 11,000 personnel from the Sindh Reserve Police. In a meeting presided by Sindh IGP Shahid Nadeem Balcoh, it was conveyed that the number of police personnel is 25,150 in Karachi, 23,520 in Hyderabad, 8,855 in Sukkur, 1,125 in Mirpurkhas, 2,155 in Sukkur and 3,200 in Larkana.  The report also said that there are 9,600 highly sensitive and sensitive polling stations in Sindh, adding that the IGP has directed all concerned officials to ensure security to voters, candidates and the polling staff.
