Market watch: KSE rises 0.98 per cent to finish at 19661 points

Jah.Sidd.Co leads volume of shares traded on May 9.

The Karachi Stock Exchange’s (KSE) benchmark 100-share index rose 0.98 per cent or 188.91 points to end at the 19661.46 point level.

178 million shares were traded compared with the May 8 tally of 252 million shares.

Shares of 382 companies were traded on May 9. At the end of the day 197 stocks closed higher, 129 declined while 56 remained unchanged. The value of shares traded during the day was Rs8,137 million.

Jah.Sidd.Co. was the volume leader with 21.64 million shares gaining Rs0.95 to finish at Rs11.45. It was followed by Lotte Chemical with 15.56 million shares gaining Rs0.03 to close at Rs7.80 and TRG Pakistan Ltd. with 14.93 million shares gaining Rs0.68 to close at Rs9.46.
