The man was caught attempting to smuggle an amount of heroin hidden inside his stomach, the ministry said in a statement carried by SPA state news agency.
He was executed in the city of Riyadh.
His beheading brings to 38 the number of people executed in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of the year, according to an AFP tally.
In 2012, the kingdom executed 76 people, according to an AFP tally based on official figures. Human Rights Watch has put the number at 69.
Rape, murder, apostasy, armed robbery and drug trafficking are all punishable by death under Saudi Arabia's strict version of sharia, or Islamic law.

@Aschraful Makhlooq: If I were to slip a packet of hasheesh in your luggage without your knowledge in order to frame you and if it was to discovered by Saudi Customs, believe me they would sentence you to death. For your kind information they don't investigate nor look for proof or evidence. Procession alone is sufficient for death sentence by Saudis. Lastly the laws Saudis implement are not in any slightest way in accordance with Sharia and they have different rules for their rulers and the citizens and foreigners. Plus system of 'kingship' and 'kingdom' are anti sharia.
@Salman: A barbaric medieval practice which is inhuman. No one in his right senses can stand up for this.there are more humane ways if you still wish to execute someone.
@Gulam Rasool "Kuldeep sharma": Dear, Using drugs and supplying/selling are two different categories. Both have different punish by their law. Even there is a limit if one found selling with little amount they kept them in Training center to cure the bad habit, if one is found with very large amount and confirmed selling after deep investigations then there is a death penalty.
Dont just believe what you hear by flying words/information, search your selves for proves and authenticity for the information before commenting specially when it comes to religion otherwise dont comment.
@Salman Mr. salman will you please gave me 2 or just 1 name of citizen from US, UK, CANADA, FRANCE,GERMANY etc How much westerners beheaded in past 3 years? don't tell me that they don't use drugs. Just Analyze
@Final Solution: For your kind information after the exact, accurate, authentic and complete investigation with all the proofs and evidences any one is punished in Saudi Arabia and only due to strictly and practically implementation of Quran's and Sunnah's laws for any one either Saudi Arabians or foreigners in Saudi Arabia the crimes and sins ratios are very very very less than any countries of the world most especially importantly USA,UK,India and other non-muslim countries.... I am proud of Saudi Arabia which is implementing Quran's and Sunnah's laws strictly and practically for every one in Saudi Arabia. In the last why do we Pakistanis forget this harsh reality that in Saudi Arabia drugs' smuggling's and human's trafficking's punishment is beheading or we Pakistanis consider that in Saudi Arabia we can do any thing like we do in Pakistan and no one will ask us about our crimes and sins????
Keep voting for Nawazs & Zardaris & you will keep getting head shots without anyone raising a voice against it.
PTI must win so we can live a honorable life.
@Salman: Clearly not safer for those that are beheaded - especially if they were innocent.
@Final Solution: Is that why there country is safer? I support what Saudi's do.
Saudis behead anyone with drug possession without any investigation of whether that person was guilty or framed. If this is what sharia is, we're better without it.
I think its the 4th Pakistani to be executed in Saudi this year. And 1 was in U.A.E. Wonder why Pakistanis never make any noise when a Pakistani dies in Saudi Arabia/UAE, but they are ready to scream murder when a terrorist is executed in India after a decade.
