Agriculture: Canadian envoy lauds agriculture sector

MULTAN: “Pakistan has a fabulous agri sector on which it is spending perhaps 20% of their GDP where as we spend 3% of our GDP” said Canadian High Commissioner Greg Giokas while addressing a meeting of representatives of business community of South Punjab late Tuesday evening.He added that they encouraged women economic empowerment and they needed to be involved to boost the economy. He stressed on the need to focus on education to continue economic growth. “The number one challenge is education for Pakistan,” the high commissioner said and added that people wanted to send their children to school when they were financially stable. President Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Muhammad Khan Sadozai in his welcome address said that Pakistan and Canada enjoyed cordial relations with each other and strong traditions of friendship.
